H-alpha Daystar Quark Protuberances sunscreen (0.6-0.8A)
The DayStar Quark solar filter offers, in a compact form and easy to install on any telescope, everything you need for H-alpha observation and photography of the Sun. The Quark filter is available in two versions: the Protuberances version, with a bandwidth of 0.6-0.8A, is more suitable for visual observation, especially of protrusions above the solar limb
Solar filter H-alpha Daystar Quark Protuberances (0.6-0.8A).
The DayStar Quark solar filter offers, in a compact form and easy to install on any telescope, everything you need for H-alpha observing and photography of the Sun. The Quark filter is available in two versions: the Protuberances version, with a bandwidth of 0.6-0.8A, is more suitable for visual observation, especially of protrusions above the solar limb.
The Daystar Quark filter is installed in the telescope focuser: for example, if you use a refractor, first insert the diagonal into the focuser, then the Quark filter, and finally place the camera or eyepiece in the Quark. To protect your telescope when pointing at the Sun, we recommend that you install a protective ERF (energy rejection filter).
The special design of the Quark that we offer you at Telescopiomania includes all the necessary components to transform your telescope into a high performance H-alpha solar telescope: it includes an H-alpha solar filter, an internal 4.2x telecentric Barlow (with internal anti-reflection coating and optical design specifically designed for H-alpha and to obtain a larger flat field) and adapters. All this to allow you to get a high quality and high performance product at an affordable price.
Using it with a long focal length eyepiece you can observe the entire solar disk with refractors up to about 500mm focal length (varies depending on the eyepiece used). An additional advantage of the Daystar Quark filter is that it has no limitation on the size of the telescope being used: in fact, it can also be used on large diameter refractors to obtain really large magnifications and resolving power. Perfect for use with refractor telescopes (with focal ratio from f / 4 to f / 8) where the Quark is installed directly on the diagonal, to then observe with the eyepiece or camera. In order to protect the telescope when it is directly pointed at the sun, we recommend using an ERF protection filter which, by eliminating infrared radiation, prevents heat inside the telescope.
Note: the Quark filter is available in 2 versions: Chromosphere with bandwidth 0.3-0.5A and Protuberances with bandwidth 0.6-0.8A. The former, with less bandwidth, provides higher contrast but less light. Therefore, it is more suitable for still photography, especially with monochrome cameras. The second, with a wider bandwidth, is more suitable for visual use, especially for observing bumps on the edge of the solar disk. You can choose the model you like best, they are available at the same price.
