The compass is foldable and is provided with a large transparent viewing window in its cover. Thanks to this, it is possible to read the compass directions even with the cover closed. A graduated dial immersed in a special liquid causes the magnetic needle to slow down rapidly to show the direction. The compass allows the position to be determined in degrees. A built-in bubble level simplifies compass alignment along the horizontal axis.
Some elements of the graduated dial are painted with fluorescent paint and are well discernible in the dark. The compass has a clinometer fitted with a half-dial; it is a small tool for determining angles of inclination. It is indispensable in geodetic work and military operations. Map scales are used to plan a route on a map: there is a graduated scale and a scale in cm.
An observation sight allows pointing at distant objects and taking a bearing. The user can see a precise number through a special lens in the body of the compass. The sighting scope is provided with a scale in mils to measure the distance between objects. Two scales are used for working with maps: one scale in centimeters and the other in inches. There is a table with formulas on the back of the compass.
The compass can be attached to a standard tripod.
