Place the device on a flat surface, point the lens at a ceiling or white wall and see a view of 10,000 stars in the northern hemisphere. The kit includes 2 projection slides. The first shows stars as dots and the second shows outlines of star constellations. Rotate the star slide and the entire projection will rotate around its axis.
You can rotate the device on the stand and direct the lens horizontally or vertically. The front panel has a disc tray for inserting the slides. You can focus with the ring around the lens. This tool is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included).
The kit includes a planisphere (a rotating star map). It shows what the night sky looks like at a certain time during different months.
