The horizontal column positioning mechanism is housed inside the tripod's upper structure for a more compact size, and extends quickly and easily when needed. Switching from vertical to horizontal column does not require disassembly of any parts, and can be done even with the camera mounted.
The tripod legs of the 055CXPRO3 tripod also extend very quickly, thanks to the Quick Power Lock section locking lever system. The special design of the QPL levers allows for a more comfortable and safer leg section locking/unlocking action, even with one hand and in a single movement. The QPL system design also offers stronger locking of each section, which means the tripod is more stable and rigid than traditional designs. The leg angle selectors are intuitive and ergonomic, so that each leg can be independently and solidly set at any of the preset angles, allowing considerable positioning freedom.
A spirit level is also incorporated at the top of the center column for more precise framing. This level rotates absolutely freely around the center column, so that it can be positioned in the easiest way to observe it while adjusting the tripod, without being obscured by the head or camera.
The top frame of the 055CXPRO3 has an Easy Link connector to easily add photo or video accessories (such as an LED light, flash, reflector, or any other equipment) mounted on an extension arm or bracket, turning the tripod into a handy mobile studio.
