The revolutionary center support system can be operated in a symmetrical or asymmetrical manner. Mafrotto has designed it with a quick-action system for locking the feet and there is no need to undo the three-sided column.
All this has allowed Manfrotto to achieve two important results: fast positioning by locking the brakes so that all feet are at the same angle and open immediately, or individually adjusting the angle of each foot for the ultimate in tripod flexibility. To avoid annoying delays in leveling the tripod, the center keys have been designed with two positions that allow you to easily find the angle of the same extension of all three feet. The second improvement has been made to the foot locking system.
Anti-rotation foot sections:
Anti-rotation sections provide a tripod (or monopod) that is easier and faster to open, and close from the position of use. Manfrotto uses several different types of anti-rotation system: on some series, the elliptical or three-sided shape of the concentric tubes means they cannot rotate, while on round tripod tubes small protrusions under the length of the tube manage to keep the sections perfectly aligned.
Q-r folding leg locks:
Locks the lever that opens the legs, quick and easy to set and close. The tension of the locking mechanism is user adjustable, and all parts can be easily repaired or replaced.

Independent leg angles:
Each leg can be adjusted to a different angle. Manfrotto provides more flexible and versatile positioning to help keep equipment balanced over the tripod's center of gravity.
Mid-level paddle:
Triangle construction adds anti-torsion, rigidity and prevents the tripod legs from separating when accidentally struck. Compared to a ground level paddle or platform, the mid-level spreader has the advantage of holding up well in mud and dirt and is better suited for use on uneven terrain.
