The hummingbird spotting scope shares many qualities with the bird of the same name. In the wild, hummingbirds are known for their very small size, agility (they can fly in almost any direction at will) and their ability to travel long distances (many migrate between South and North America). The Hummingbird Celestron is the world's first "micro" spotting scope, ideal for hikers, birders and other observers of wildlife on the move.
Go to "Micro"
Standard spotting scopes tend to be large and/or heavy, making them cumbersome to carry long distances in the field. The Hummingbird will shatter your expectations of how light and compact a spotting scope can be, so it will take you places you never thought possible. You can easily hold this telescope in one hand, place it in a pocket, or stow it in your carry-on luggage without compromising space.
Clear, sharp images
Although small, Hummingbird does not compromise on quality. All air-glass surfaces are fully multi-coated with high-transmission optical coatings. The result is maximum light transmission for bright, sharp, contrasty images. The prism is BaK4 phase coated, which increases contrast and resolution for sharper, more detailed images.
Durable, waterproof construction
The Hummingbird's durable body works to keep the telescope protected from bumps and shocks both during transport and in the field. It's also fully waterproof and nitrogen-purged, so you can use the scope without worry in downpours, wet conditions and other environmental challenges.
Ready for any adventure
The Hummingbird 9-27x56 spotting scope features a 10-foot close focus, making it perfect for observing birds, butterflies, plants or other close subjects. The magnification of the 9-27x56mm scope spans the standard magnification ranges of a binocular telescope and spotting scope. No matter how you choose to observe, this versatile telescope has excellent all-around performance.
Ways to observe
Unlike most spotting scopes, Hummingbird is small enough that you can use it on your handheld computer at the lowest magnification level for a quick view of your subject. Travelers who want to save space can replace both their binoculars and telescope with this single optic. But the scope is also adaptable to a tripod, so you can secure it to a stable platform for comfortable long-duration or long-distance viewing.
Hummingbird provides great eye relief for use with or without glasses. For use with eyeglasses, leave the rotating eyepiece in the down position. For use without eyeglasses, turn the rotating eyepiece up in the extended position
