Better astrophotos both at home and on the road
Now, in addition to the typical vacation photos, you can take home stunning astro-memories of your travels. It's easier than it sounds. All you need is a tripod, the MiniTrack mount, a ball head and your camera. Reduced to the bare essentials, this kit has a clear mission: to take astrophotos that catch everyone's eye. And it does it perfectly...
60-minute mechanical tracking
MiniTrack has a mechanical heart with no room for electronics. A high-precision clock is in charge of directing your camera with precision. The tracking is started by simply winding up the MiniTrack as if it were an analog clock. The mount never stops, even in freezing temperatures. It works smoothly even with telephoto lenses. No wonder that this specialist for wide-field captures has won the hearts of so many amateur astronomers.
Like a counterweight: improved spring system
The MiniTrack LX3 has no counterweight, but a spring system that replaces it and makes this mount an extremely compact and travel-friendly option. And what's new: an improved spring system holds the camera in place when weight is loaded at one end and accelerates or slows down the tracking. This provides greater flexibility and accuracy when tracking the stars.
Tip: The ideal tracking speed is when the clock beeps 130-135 times per minute. The spring must be individually tensioned according to the weight of the camera you attach. To measure ticks per minute we recommend using a metronome "TapTempo-App BPM" for smartphones. This is a tool designed to measure the tempo of a piece of music automatically. Feel free to download one of these apps to measure the speed of your MiniTrack.
Large Teflon bushing
The MiniTrack has undergone a complete design upgrade: its new Teflon bushing is larger and ensures incredibly smooth movement so that your camera glides even more smoothly during tracking.
CNC machined housing
More beautiful to look at, but also more durable: that's the housing of the new MiniTrack LX3 mount, which is made of much stronger milled aluminum - so don't be afraid to take sparks out of your mount! Quality is assured even after years of use.
Higher load capacity, same carrying comfort
You always have to go one step further: the MiniTrack now supports cameras weighing up to 3 kg. But the mount remains just as small, light and easy to transport as before. The difference is that you can now attach larger cameras or cameras with longer lenses. And all with the same great stability as before.
Exact search for the north celestial pole
The optical finder helps you find the north celestial pole with ease. Like the larger mounts, the MiniTrack LX3 comes with a mount and pole finder for better alignment to ensure sharp astrophotos.
Compatible with any tripod
The MiniTrack mount features two connections: for tripod and for camera or ball head. Just place the MiniTrack as usual on the 1/4" screw of your photographic tripod and point it in the desired direction. A ball head with 3/8" thread can be attached to the other end.
