PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
SUNSCAN is an instrument proposed by STAROS Projects. It is an autonomous spectroheliograph that allows you to obtain images of the Sun at the wavelength of your choice. It can be controlled through a smartphone or tablet application.
The description, assembly and adjustment of this spectroheliograph are described here:
"SUNSCAN is a stand-alone smart solar telescope designed by the STAROS team. It can perform observations in a very simple way and obtain images of our star automatically without special knowledge, showing prominences, flares or even sunspots. The Sunscan project is open source and protected by specific licenses to guarantee the rights of users and authors.
Using SUNSCAN is very simple, you can be up and running in just a few seconds. Set up SUNSCAN with its tripod, point it at the Sun using a small integrated viewfinder. Wait a few minutes for the Sun to pass naturally in front of the device thanks to the Earth's rotation. Then enjoy the result directly on your smartphone or tablet thanks to the integrated WIFI connection.
No need to buy expensive filters, computers, telescopes or astronomical cameras: everything you need is compactly integrated in SUNSCAN.
Easily transportable, SUNSCAN is the perfect companion for gatherings with friends or public events. Each participant can view near real-time images of the Sun on their own smartphone, and all data can also be retrieved directly to a laptop for exploration and sharing.
Compatible with Android and iPhone, the app can be downloaded directly to your phone or tablet.
Looking at the Sun can be extremely dangerous unless proper precautions are taken and specialized solar observing equipment is available. Never look directly at the Sun with your eyes. Even a brief accidental glance through an unfiltered or improperly filtered optical system can cause immediate and permanent eye damage. Never allow unattended children to operate or be near a solar telescope system."
how does it work?
The SUNSCAN is a revolutionary spectroheliograph designed to allow you to capture images of the Sun in a matter of minutes, right from your smartphone. This complete, self-contained unit is the fruit of several months of work by our team of enthusiasts. With SUNSCAN, you will be able to explore the wonders of the Sun like never before.
A sophisticated device that combines several advanced technologies to offer you a unique experience. Here's how it works
Modular design: The SUNSCAN is composed of several different parts, each designed for easy assembly. You can purchase each part separately through our distribution partners and follow our step-by-step assembly guide.
High quality optics: The SUNSCAN incorporates a slit and lenses, a grating and a high quality mirror to ensure sharp and detailed images of the Sun.
Raspberry Pi and miniature color camera: The heart of the SUNSCAN is a Raspberry Pi that controls the image capture. An integrated miniature color camera allows you to instantly view the results on your smartphone.
Control via smartphone: thanks to our dedicated app, you can control the SUNSCAN directly from your smartphone, making the experience even more intuitive and accessible.
With SUNSCAN, you have in your hands a powerful tool to explore the mysteries of the Sun. Whether you are an amateur astronomer or a technology enthusiast, the SUNSCAN is there to accompany you in your discoveries.
