Reducing the bandwidth from the estimated 0.7 Angstrom to 0.5 Angstroms will make much more detail visible on the solar surface. Adding a second Etalon to the existing one is not as easy as it might seem. Both Etalon filters need to be perfectly aligned with each other and both need to be tunable so that all ghost images can be eliminated. Ideally, the transmission curves should overlap perfectly in band to provide the best possible resolution and contrast. Both Etalons in this system are aligned and checked together at the factory to ensure that both perform flawlessly.

The telescope's internal Etalon filter is equipped with the advanced Pressure-Tuner system, based on Etalon filter control by pressure difference on both sides of the filter. The Etalon of the external Double-Stack system is provided with a mechanical type tilt adjustment system.

The blocking filter is the B1200. The B1200 is good for visual solar observation and also for solar photography.

The diagonal, where the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as standard with 1.25" eyepieces and T2 threaded camera connection.

Fine adjustment is achieved with a 2" Starlight-Instruments Feather-Touch focuser with a 38mm focusing travel and a macro-micro reduction of 10:1.
