Modular multipurpose telescope, suitable for both H-Alpha wavelength solar observation and night sky observation. Easy transformation between different applications with a few simple movements. Three-lens apochromatic telescope with FPL-51 glass, 130 mm aperture and 910 mm focal length - exceptional image quality for H-Alpha solar and starry night sky observation.
With innovative air pressure adjustment system, good 2-inch (50.8 mm) R&P eyepiece extractor and B1800 blocking filter.
H-Alpha solar observing:
The LS130MT/B1800 is a complete telescope for solar observing in H-Alpha light, with a free aperture of 130 mm (no central obstruction) and a focal length of 910 mm. The H-Alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun, revealing bumps on the edge of the sun, filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. An internal Etalon filter achieves a half-width of with the innovative Pressure-Tuner air pressure adjustment system. The adjustment is made by slightly changing the air pressure in a pressure chamber inside the telescope. This changes the refractive index of the air, allowing precise adjustment on the H-Alpha line. The Pressure-Tuner ensures a uniform image without central obstruction and long-lasting protection of the Etalon without wear. A set of collimating lenses installed in the telescope ensures optimum performance.
Focusing is accomplished with a 2-inch R&P stable focuser with 1:10 reduction.
The locking filter is the B1800. The B1800 is suitable for visual solar observation and also for solar photography with cameras with small to large sensor chips. For cameras with very large sensor chips, we recommend an LS130MT with B3400 blocking filter.
The zenith mirror, in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as standard with an eyepiece attachment for 1.25 inch eyepieces and a T2 connection for cameras.
Night sky observation:
The Etalon H-Alpha system can be removed from the telescope with just a few movements thanks to the modular design. The three-lens apochromatic refractor can then be used as a normal telescope with an aperture of 130 mm and a focal length of 910 mm for observation and photography of the starry night sky. The FPL-51 triptych lens offers an exceptionally pure color image. Standard 2-inch zenith mirrors can be used with the telescope's R&P focuser.
Note that the optional conversion kit 0551696 is only required for the LS130MT version with B3400 locking filter if you wish to use the telescope at night as well. For versions with the B1200 and B1800 blocking filters, the conversion kit is not necessary.
Other applications:
With additional accessories available, the LS130MT offers even more possibilities!
Double stacking
The LS130MT telescope can be optionally equipped with the separately available LS130MT/DSII double stacking module (item number 0551690). The DSII system is an internal double stacking module with Pressure-Tuner, achieving a half-width of
Solar observation in white light
Once the H-Alpha unit is removed, a solar filter installed in front of the objective or a Herschel eyepiece prism can be used to observe sunspots in white light.
Solar observation in Ca-K wavelength
The separately available Ca-K LUNT filter module for the LS130MT (item number 0551697) can be used with the LS130MT to observe and photograph supergranulation and other visible effects at this wavelength on the sun.
this makes the LS130MT a universally usable apochromatic telescope of the highest quality!
