LS80MT/B1200R&P APO telescope for sun and starry sky
Multi-purpose telescope of modular design for both H-alpha wavelength sun observation and night sky observation. Easy conversion between different applications with a few simple steps. 2-lens ED Apo telescope with FPL-53 glass, 80 mm aperture and 560 mm focal length - very good image quality for H-Alpha solar observation and also for observing the starry sky at night.
With innovative air pressure adjustment system, good 2 inch (50.8 mm) R&P focuser and B1200 blocking filter.
H-alpha solar observing:
The LS80MT/B1200 is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light, with 80 mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 560 mm focal length. The H-alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun, showing bumps on the edge of the sun, filaments and flares on the surface and much more. An internal Etalon filter achieves a bandwidth of Fine tuning is achieved with a solid 2-inch R&P focuser with 10:1 reduction.
The blocking filter is the B1200. The B1200 is good for visual solar observation. It is also possible to obtain solar images using cameras with a small sensor chip. We recommend an LS80MT with B1800 blocking filter when using cameras with large sensor chips.
The diagonal star, in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as standard for 1.25 inch eyepieces and with T2 camera connection.
Observing the starry sky:
The H-Alpha Etalon system can be removed from the telescope in a few simple steps thanks to its modular design. With the additionally available conversion kit (item number 0551330), the 2-lens ED Apo refractor can be used as a normal telescope with an aperture of 80 mm and a focal length of 560 mm for observing and photographing the night sky. The FPL-53 double lens provides an image with low chromatic aberration. Common 2-inch star diagonals can be used on the high quality R&P focuser of conversion kit 0551330.
Please note that the optionally available conversion kit 0551330 is absolutely necessary if the telescope is to be used at night.
More applications:
With additional accessories available, the LS80MT offers even more possibilities!
- Double stack
The LS80MT telescope can be optionally upgraded with the additionally available DSII/SFPT double stack module (item number 0551395). The DSII system is an internal double stack module. Thus, a bandwidth of - Solar observation in white light is achieved
If the H-alpha unit has been removed, of course a solar filter can be used to install in front of the objective or a Herschel wedge in the focuser to observe sunspots in white light.
- Solar observation at Ca-K wavelength
Certainly, Lunt Solar Systems Ca-K filter modules can also be used on the LS80MT to observe and photograph supergranulation and other visible effects at this wavelength on the sun.
this makes the LS80MT a completely universal and very good quality ED Apo telescope!
