These are safe solar filters for off-axis telescopes.
An off-axis solar filter blocks light in the telescope allowing only light to pass through a small portion of glass that is off-center.
By reducing the aperture, the image is not darker, but the visibility of daytime atmospheric turbulence is reduced.
Off-axis is less expensive than full aperture solar filters.
This premium solar filter has an aluminum cell that is attached and centered at the end of the telescope tube with nylon screws and felt pads. The aperture portion of the filter should be positioned as close to 12 o'clock as possible.
The off-axis aperture is made of high quality reflective coated glass, hand selected and inspected. This is the most durable and highest quality off-axis aperture glass solar filter on the market.
The sun is seen in a natural yellow-orange image.
The filter can be used for direct viewing through a telescope or for photography. You should be able to see sunspots, granulation, and of course a solar eclipse.
This filter comes in plastic box. The filter box is foam lined for protection and shock absorption during handling. It is sturdy enough to store the filter while not in use.
Instructions for use and care are included with the filter.
