The new ZWO ASI2600-P Pro monochrome camera, cooled and with a USB 3.0 port, is here. Its dynamic range of 14 stops can reach a depth comparable to CCD cameras, but with a much higher sensitivity. Its large, state-of-the-art back-illuminated APS-C sensor is one of Sony's most sensitive CMOS sensors, making it even ideal for high-resolution spectroscopy studies.

With excellent performance its dynamic range reaches up to 14 stops, maintaining it even when the gain value reaches 100, as the HCG high gain mode is activated. This greatly reduces read noise while keeping the dynamic range unchanged. For optimum results, it is recommended to set the gain between 0 and 100 for deep sky astrophotography.

With its dynamic range of 14 stops, a very low read noise of 1.0e and an innovative system that achieves zero-amperage brightness, the ZWO brand reaches its zenith with this camera.

Its Sony back-illuminated CMOS sensor improves sensitivity and noise reduction, which are key factors in improving image quality, while retaining advantages such as low power consumption and high-speed operation.

The camera combines 26MP with a small pixel size (3.76 um) and great adaptability to large well depths of 50Ke.

Its 16-bit ADC is not that it is comparable to the ADC of 16-bit CCD cameras, but far exceeds it by achieving a dynamic range output of 14 stops significantly improving sharpness and contrast.

It significantly improves the reduction of read noise, being able to achieve in a 300 second exposure a noise of 0.7e which, at a cooling temperature of -20°C, can even be reduced to a minimum of 0.00012e, something completely insignificant.

The new ZWO ASI2600MM-Pro camera incorporates a back-illuminated sensor that enables it to achieve an incredible quantum efficiency of up to 91% providing a new level of grayscales difficult to achieve until recently.

The fact that it has a 256 GB memory buffer greatly increases the sensor's read speed.

Its USB 3.0 port facilitates high download speed and prevents data loss during download. It also has two USB 2.0 ports that can be used, for example, to connect a guide camera.

It also has a DDR3 buffer to provide stable data transfer even with USB 2.0: it minimizes amplifier offloading.

Traditional CMOS sensors produce a weak infrared light source during operation, which produces "amplifier glow" in the images. The new sensor in the ASI 2600-MM PRO uses the Zero Amp Glow system that eliminates amplifier glow even at high gain and long exposure.

Sony has developed, for this sensor, a lens enhanced by a new back illumination system that provides higher sensitivity and lower read noise compared to the conventional front illumination system of sensors used to date. With a conventional front illumination structure, a light-sensitive area (photodiode) is formed on the sensor that prevents photon collection through the lens. However, the back-illuminated structure reduces sensitivity degradation and increases the amount of light reaching each sensor pixel by shifting the location of the wiring and transmitters to the back of the sensor's silicon plate.

The camera features an optimized 2-stage TEC cooling system that can reduce the temperature of the CMOS sensor to 35° below ambient temperature, which reduces sensor noise even with long exposure times. (The cooling system requires external power supply to deliver this temperature delta)
