Camera ZWO ASI6200MM Pro Mono

Introducing the latest large format camera from the prestigious Chinese manufacturer, ZWO. The new model ZWO ASI6200MM Pro is a cooled monochrome camera that incorporates a new back-illuminated Sony IMX455 CMOS sensor that improves sensitivity and noise reduction. Its resolution is 9576x6388 and 61.2Mpx. Its 16-bit dynamic range can reach a depth comparable to CCD cameras, but with much higher sensitivity. It offers a larger dynamic range that significantly improves sharpness and contrast and provides a larger grayscale.

With a larger sensor size (36 mm long, 24 mm wide and 43.3 mm diagonal), 61.2 Mpx and a small pixel size of 3.76 um this camera provides a large depth of 51.4 ke comparable to CCD cameras.

The ZWO ASI6200MM Pro has excellent performance with 16-bit dynamic range. When the gain value is 100 the HCG high gain mode is activated which reduces the read noise largely without changing the dynamic range basically.

Camera very suitable for all astronomical applications, but especially for deep sky astrophotography. High performance even in low light. It is also suitable for lunar and planetary imaging as its exposure times are extremely short due to its high sensitivity.

With it ZWO outperforms thanks to an extremely high sensitivity sensor and a 16-bit dynamic range that achieves much higher performances than 12-bit sensors, whatever the exposure time.

It incorporates a back-illuminated sensor (BSI) that allows it to reach a quantum efficiency of 80% providing a new level of grayscales, previously unimaginable.

Equipped with USB 3.0 port, it facilitates high download speed and prevents data loss during download. It also has two USB 2.0 ports that can be used, for example, to connect a camera guide.

Its 256 GB buffer greatly increases the reading speed of the sensor for stable and secure data transmission and in prolonged exposure greatly reduces the glare effect caused by the slow reading speed.

Exceptional sensitivity, high quantum efficiency and low amplifier electroluminescence thanks to BACK ILLUMINATION technology.

Traditional CMOS sensors produce a weak infrared light source during operation, which produces "amplifier glow" in the images. The new sensor in the ASI 6200-MM PRO uses the Zero Amp Glow system that eliminates amplifier glow even at high gain and long exposure.

Sony has developed, for this sensor, a lens optimized by a new backlight system that provides higher sensitivity and lower read noise compared to the conventional front illumination system of previous sensors. With a conventional front illumination structure, a light-sensitive area (photodiode) is formed on the sensor that prevents photon collection through the lens. However, the back-illuminated structure reduces sensitivity degradation and increases the amount of light reaching each pixel by moving the wiring and transmitters to the back of the sensor's silicon plate.

The camera features an enhanced 2-stage TEC cooling system that can reduce the temperature of the CMOS sensor to 40° below ambient temperature, reducing sensor noise even with long exposure times. (The cooling system requires an external power supply)

At a cooling temperature of 0° the noise is only 0.003e. This means that at 300 seconds exposure the readout noise is 0.9e, which is almost negligible.

The anti-spray heater that fits completely into the protective window will heat it to avoid spray problems.

The power of the heat anti-spray heater is about 5W and can be turned off in the software to save energy.
