CMOS Camera ZWO ASI 183MM Pro Mono.

The ZWO ASI183MM Pro camera uses the state-of-the-art monochrome sensor from SONY Exmor R BSI IMX183. With approximately 20 million pixels, this camera belongs to the large CMOS astronomical cameras. Due to the pixel size of only 2.4 μm, the resolution of the camera is sensational. This makes the ASI183 especially attractive for sharp and fast telescopes and camera lenses.

One of the outstanding features of the ASI183 is the sensational light sensitivity. Its quantum efficiency of 84%, thanks to BACK ILLUMINATION technology, and the very low brightness of the amplifier make the camera very suitable for all astronomical applications.

In direct comparison to DSLR cameras, the ASI183MM offered by Telescopiomania convinces with its superior light sensitivity, smoother image acquisition and more depth of field, plus the stars saturate less quickly.

Fields of application of the ASI183MM Pro CMOS mono camera:

          • Stunning lunar and planetary images and videos. The high sensitivity allows to "freeze" the view. Through the small pixels a high resolution of the telescope can be achieved without additional optical elements.
          • Autoguiding is possible through its ST-4 interface. Thanks to its high resolution, it can guide large telescopes with guiding telescopes from an aperture of 50mm. At the same time, the camera weighs only 120 grams and barely loads the focuser.
          • Deep sky images of the highest quality with short exposure times, thanks to the modern Sony sensor it incorporates. After only a few seconds, you can already see stars and deep sky objects that cannot be seen through the telescope with your eyes. Light sensitivity is much higher than with a conventional DSLR.
          • Downloads, drivers: ZWO provides software and drivers online for free download.

Other advantages and features of the ASI 183MM Pro mono camera:

          • USB 3.0 for fast download: can also be used with USB 2.0
          • 256 MB DDR buffer memory for stable data exchange that reduces over-brightness of the amplifier
          • Powerful Peltier cooling down to 45°C below the environment
          • Incorporates one of Sony's most light-sensitive CMOS sensors with 15.9 mm diameter at 20 megapixels
          • High resolution at 2.4 μm pixel size, ideal for fast and accurate telescopes such as apos, Hyperstar, Celestron Fastar, fast Newtonian telescopes, ...
          • Comes with AR protection window, full transmission also in IR. If IR is to be blocked, an additional IR blocking filter is required
          • Distance T2 thread (female) to camera sensor: 17.5 mm
          • High sensitivity, quantum efficiency up to 84%
          • Astronomical camera ideal for dark objects
          • 12 bit ADC
          • Due to the high sensitivity, nebulae and galaxies are captured after a few seconds. By cooling the camera to 45°C below ambient temperature, the already low noise can be further reduced. By increasing the gain (like the ISO setting of DSLR cameras), you can reduce exposure times to below 30 seconds
          • In lunar and planetary images the extremely short exposure times (due to the high sensitivity) freeze the view. Thanks to the high resolution of the sensor, many details can be captured even at short focal lengths. Video astronomy is also possible
