The ZWO ASI183MC camera uses the state-of-the-art SONY Exmor R BSI IMX183 color sensor. With approximately 20 million pixels, this camera belongs to the large CMOS astronomy cameras. Due to the pixel size of only 2.4 μm, the resolution of the camera is sensational. This makes the ASI183 especially attractive for telescopes and sharp and fast camera lenses.
One of the outstanding features of the ASI183 is the sensational light sensitivity. Its quantum efficiency of 84%, thanks to BACK ILLUMINATION technology, and the very low brightness of the amplifier make the camera very suitable for all astronomical applications.
The "single-shot" color camera offers more convenience compared to monochrome cameras. Not everyone wants to follow the time-consuming L-RGB technique ideal for obtaining full-color photographs of nebulae or beautiful planetary images. Color cameras offer the possibility to obtain spectacular images without the need to use various filters. - Deep sky images of the highest quality with short exposure times, thanks to the modern Sony sensor it incorporates. After only a few seconds, you can already see stars and deep sky objects that cannot be seen through the telescope with your eyes. Light sensitivity is much higher than with a conventional DSLR.
