This camera ZWO ASI071MC Pro uses a Sony IMX071 color sensor. It has a completely improved mechanical and anti-glare body enlarged to 86 mm compared to the previous version of the ASI071 which was 78 mm in diameter. The camera is sealed by 6 screws. This design improves the sealing of CMOS cameras to prevent dew or frost from affecting the sensor. Air leakage is not a problem, and the camera maintains its tightness in any environment.

With low read noise and high dynamic range, this camera offers exceptional performance for astrophotography .The ASI071MC Pro PCB has also received an upgrade. Compared to the Cool version, the dark current noise has been drastically reduced and is now similar to a high-end CCD camera.

In addition, the ASI071MC Pro Color camera features a two-stage TEC cooling system for extremely deep cooling to -35°C below ambient temperature. An external power supply (optional) is required to operate the cooler.

The protection window is heated with a heater to avoid dew problems. The heating power is approximately 6 W and can be switched off via software to save energy.

For better data transfer stability, the ASI071 Pro has an integrated 256MB DDR3 memory buffer. This also eliminates amplification problems caused by low-speed data transfer during reading with USB2.0 ports. The DDR memory buffer is the key distinction between ASI's "Pro" cameras and ASI's "Cool" cameras.
