The new Atik 16200 is the highest resolution astrophotography camera in the range of cameras of the prestigious Atik brand. It incorporates a new APS-H size sensor with a 35 mm diagonal in a structure of new and original design.
The sensor has a generous pixel size of 6μm making it suitable for a wide range of telescopes. The camera's large format size makes it ideal for astrophotographers looking to capture the magnificent wide-field views of the night sky. It is also an excellent match for longer focal lengths, capturing intricate detail on even the smallest and faintest of objects. Whatever your style of astrophotography, the large image size gives you the freedom and flexibility to zoom in and get a closer look at regions of interest with the level of detail you would expect from your telescope.
The large sensor size is ideal for 2" filters, and perfectly complements the 2" model of the EFW2. It's also fully compatible with Atik Air, so it's easy to add Wifi and Ethernet connectivity to your setup.
The CCD is housed in a sealed, argon-purged chamber to create a dry, condensation-free environment. A dual-stage peltier and a powerful new heatsink have also been introduced in this new chamber brought to you by Telescopiomania for optimal cooling performance. Typical temperatures of -45 °C are achieved and -50° C is reached. All this means you can take impressive low-noise images even when the ambient temperature is high.
To improve image quality, Atik's high-quality custom electronics activate the sensor to give a read noise of only 9e-. It also mounts a new shutter that provides consistent, reliable performance over the life of the camera.
All of this is housed inside a new case design that delivers optimum performance while taking up minimal space, making the Atik 16200 the perfect camera for astrophotographers who want large-format images at a very competitive price.
The Atik 16200 comes with a Class II sensor installed as standard.
