In ATIK start the year 2015 with force presenting this new CCD camera that integrates the new and spectacular Sony sensor, the ICX825!!! This CCD uses the same EXview HAD CCD II technology already used in the prestigious ATIK 428/460/490 cameras, but with a small increase in pixel size. This combination together with the more than verified ATIK electronics makes it the most sensitive camera we have ever seen with a 60% increase in sensitivity over the ATIK 314L+ in H-alpha !!!!
The ATIK 414EX even surpassed the popular KAF-3200 in sensitivity, but with the added advantage of zero blooming. A true revolution for astrophotography enthusiasts!
But the ATIK 414EX is more than just sensitivity. Its cooling system can easily offer a temperature delta of -30ºC with respect to the ambient temperature and it is regulated, so your image calibration will be consistent... And speaking of calibration, at Telescopiomania, we have found that in various applications, the ATIK 414EX camera has very low noise, and DARK images become an option rather than a must.
The small dimensions of the ATIK 414EX make it ideal for use in Fastar or Hyperstar configurations with zero obstruction even in 6" diameter tubes. Its light weight continues to keep stress on the corrector plate to a minimum.
