New state-of-the-art design

Polygons such as the regular hexagon are very Player One, DSO refrigerated chambers have been designed to make them more beautiful and practical.

After many tests, the final style was established in scientific and technological octagon to build the main body line and completed by round chamfers to obtain both rigidity and flexibility.

The front piece is round to avoid diffraction in RASA and hyper star systems.

Positive red, reminiscent of a summer fire, is combined with understated black, while the ultra-thin all-over glazing process gives the chamber a luxurious, cool look while retaining Player One styling.

The refrigerated chamber developed by Player One Astronomy is designed for advanced DSO imaging.

It adopts Sony's industrial-grade IMX455AQK-K sensor. The pixel size of 3.76 um allows a well depth of 71.6 Ket with a total of 61 MP (resolution is 9576 x 6388), and the diagonal is 44.3 mm.

4-point rear adjustment Sensor tilt plate

When photographing the deep sky, the tilt plate reduces the curvature caused by the poor parallelism of the light rays reaching the sensor.

Player One has chosen a 4-point tilt plate that can be adjusted from the rear for easy adjustment.

The 4-point adjustment makes it easier to know which corner needs adjustment.

Deep cooling

Player One series refrigerated chamber uses 2-stage TEC refrigeration unit, after improving the structure design to reject heat in the chamber chamber, the Delta-T chamber can reach more than 40 ℃.

512MB of DDR3 cache

As an improvement, the DDR3 cache of the cooled cameras is increased to 512MB. It helps stabilize and secure data transmission, effectively prevents frame loss and significantly reduces playback noise.

With the DDR3 cache, the camera no longer has high demands in terms of computing requirements, it will still perform excellently even when connected to a USB 2.0 port.

STARVIS Technology

The Zeus cooled camera (IMX455) is based on Sony's STARVIS technology, the back-illuminated pixel technology used in CMOS image sensors.


Full Frame Format

The EUS 455M Pro cooled camera has a full-frame format (36 mm x 24 mm), making it ideal for professional SD imaging.

Native 16-bit ADC

The IMX455 sensor has an integrated 16-bit native ADC. The native 16-bit ADC (65536 levels) provides a higher sampling resolution than 12-bit (4096 levels) or 14-bit (16384 levels).

When we make a transition from linear to nonlinear, 16-bit data can support a very strong transformation and can also provide a much better light/dark transition, plus 16 bits can make the color more vivid.

The ZEUS 455M Pro refrigerated chamber is also a non-amplified chamber.

Non Amp-Glow technology can give us a very clean DARKNESS, much easier to achieve high greedy images.

Type C data port and power port

The rear piece of the cooled camera has 2 Type-C data ports and a 12V DC 5.5 x 2.1mm power port.

The main data port supports USB3.0 protocol, the camera can run at 6.5 fps in RAW mode.8 The Type-C port is easier to connect when mounting imaging equipment at night.

When recording images, the actual writing speed is affected by the writing speed of the hard disk itself; when the writing speed of the hard disk is slow, the recording may not reach the theoretical speed. It is recommended that a high quality solid state drive be used to save data and take full advantage of the camera's performance.

The camera has a 5.5 x 2.1 mm 12 V DC port to provide sufficient power to the TEC cooling system. If no electrical cooling is required, simply connect the main type C port and the chamber will operate as an uncooled chamber.

Anti-fogging cooling and heating system.

In the ASCOM window, we provide 3 adjustable parameters: target temperature, fan speed and anti-fogging power.

Delta-T standard: 35 C (-2 C ℃), when ambient temperature is 30 C, fan speed 100 %, anti-dew heating 10 %.

Recommend Delta-T settings: 30 C below ambient temperature,

fan speed: 70%,

anti-fog heating: 10%

The rotation speed of the cooling fan is also adjustable; the default speed is 70%.

The problem of dew is the biggest enemy of astronomical images, as the built-in anti-dew camera heats up in front of the camera. The thermal power is adjustable.

Overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanism.

Player A camera we produce ensures the safety of your camera and other equipment through overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanisms.

Double sampling mode

The ZEUS series has a dual sampling mode. The normal mode and the low noise mode have different imaging advantages.

1. Normal mode has higher FPS, it is more suitable for planetary images.

2. Low noise mode (LRN) has lower reproduction noise and higher dynamic range. it is more suitable for SSO images.

With a gain of 0, the camera has a dynamic range of 14.2 steps and a well capacity of 71.6 Kit, the read noise is 4.2e.

HCG open with gain of 125, the camera has 13.5 stops of dynamics and 16.7 EACH SQUARE, the readout noise drop is only 1.5e.

FPS

The ZEUS-cooled camera can run 6.5 FPS in RAW8 mode and 3.2 FPS in RAW16 mode.

Noise

As for the reproduction noise, we solemnly promise that all values are obtained from real tests. And for users, you can use Sharpcap 4 for testing. SC4 has a feature called Sensor Analysis, which provides a very simple way to test read noise.

If you are interested in noise reading tests, you can try them yourself, which is very easy.

Dark current

The dark current is only 0.00014 e/s/pix at -20 C and 0.00154 e/s/pix at 0 C. Along the curve, the dark current is almost like a straight line, which can show that the zEUS camera has very good quality.
