PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Upgrades:
- Higher quantum efficiency (~ 80 %)
- Lower read noise (~ 1.3 e- at unity gain)
- Higher storage capacity or Full-Well-Capacity (50 000 e-)
- 14-bit ADC
- Zero-Amp-Glow system, which eliminates amplifier glare.
This results in better dynamic range with less noise
Like the previous model, this camera is equipped with thermoelectric cooling to minimize image noise.
Although the IMX533 sensor is slightly smaller, its square shape makes it ideal for astronomical photography.
Professional deep-sky astronomical photography: the huge sensor is perfect for vast nebulae, star fields or the lunar surface. Unlike most planetary cameras, this sensor is comparable to the larger sensors in DSLR cameras.
Thermoelectric cooling: the cooling system reduces image noise. Up to 40 °C below ambient temperature, noise caused by dark current has almost completely disappeared. In addition, the precise temperature control of the sensor is very useful for calibrating astronomical photographs with dark frames. They can all be taken at the correct temperature. The final images are very clean of noise.
USB hub: two additional USB ports on the back of the camera reduce cable chaos. Additional devices (e.g. a guide camera) can be easily connected via this hub.
The camera can be adapted to almost any astrophotography setup, thanks to the T2 thread and sensor distance of only 17.5 mm. A 50.8 mm adapter allows any 50.8 mm eyepiece to be connected to the telescope as well
Supplied with a sturdy, foam-filled case so you can transport your valuable camera safely and securely with complete peace of mind.
Professional astronomical photography of the planets, Moon and Sun
The shadows of Jupiter's moons, the splits in Saturn's rings, details of the Moon's mountain ranges and the impressive prominences on the surface of the Sun... can only be photographed at a high frame rate. This freezes the turbulence in our atmosphere (so-called seeing), which hides small details. This lucky-imaging technique is now very simple, thanks to the sophisticated electronics and high data transfer rate of USB3.0 cameras. We recommend the Region of Interest (ROI) function of the included AstroPhotoCapture software Omegon. With it you can optimize the frame rate, because only the part of the sensor relevant to your object of interest is read.
Transmission
A filter protects the sensor camera from dust and moisture. The color cameras Omegon Pro are equipped with a filter that blocks infrared. CMOS sensors also measure incident infrared light and make correct color reproduction in the final image impossible. In contrast, the Omegon Pro mono cameras have an anti-reflective window, which lets in ultraviolet and infrared light in addition to visible light. The additional filters give you full control over the transmission curve, a fundamental requirement for advanced photographic or photometric applications.
Convenient capture software
With the included Omegon AstroPhotoCapture software you can learn how to control the camera quickly and easily. Correct camera settings are crucial in astrophotography. AstroPhotoCapture gives you full control over all essential parameters without having to navigate an overloaded interface. Simple tutorials explain the capture process step by step. The software is compatible with Windows 8 and 10.
Compatibility
The Omegon Pro cameras are compatible with a wide range of capture programs through the common ASCOM and INDI interfaces. It also has native support for a growing number of PHD2 and N.I.N.A. programs.
