Smart Telescope CELESTRON SMART ORIGIN
Celestron Origin is at the forefront of a new era in amateur astronomy, combining stargazing and astrophotography into a single, easy-to-use experience. This all-in-one smart home observatory eliminates the complexity of traditional telescopes and transforms your backyard into a gateway to the cosmos.Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, Celestron Origin captures the beauty of celestial objects and brings them to life on your phone or tablet.
The engineers at Celestron leveraged their decades of experience in designing every detail, from Origin's patented optical technology to its intuitive add-on application. The result is a revolutionary new system that builds upon the legacy of Celestron and makes astronomy more accessible, exciting and fun than ever before.
RASA optical technology: unleashing the power of light
In the heart of Celestron Origin is the patented Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astograph (RASA), a historic breakthrough in optics. In the RASA design, the imaging sensor is located at the front of the telescope tube, not at the rear, creating an ultra-fast f/2.2 system with an extraordinarily wide field of view while providing sharp images right to the edge.Since its launch in 2014, RASA technology has become the preferred choice for space surveillance and satellite tracking.National defense contractors, professional research astronomers and governments rely on RASA to detect small pieces of debris and space junk, keeping our vital communications satellites safely in orbit. For Origin, the optical engineers at Celestron developed a new 6" RASA with the same capabilities of an observatory instrument in a wearable package.
Thanks to RASA, Origin is unique in its class and far outperforms other telescope designs.RASA simply delivers more photons in less time than a smaller, slower reflector, refractor or other Newtonian telescopic tube.RASA's unique combination of speed, aperture and performance guarantees unparalleled image detail, even during short exposure times.
To make the most of the RASA optics, Celestron selected the Sony IMX178 color CMOS sensor to capture its data.It features STARVIS backlight technology for the highest sensitivity and fast reading with low noise, helping to provide clear images as quickly as possible. This sensitive chip has small 2.4 µm pixelsforHigh resolution, a perfect combination for fast optical design.
Turn every backyard observer into an astroimager
Celestron Origin introduces a paradigm shift in astrophotography with its integrated AI algorithms. As the telescope captures data, these intelligent algorithms automatically accumulate and process each frame in real time. The result is an impressive display of celestial objects, rich in color and detail. For the first time, astroimaging is accessible to enthusiasts of all levels, including those who have never used a telescope.
A universe at your fingertips: StarSense technology and the Origin application
Configure Celestron Origin is very simple thanks to its automated initialization process powered by StarSense technology.Place Origin outside, turn it on and connect to the application. Then, you can choose to stay with your telescope or head indoors. In less than two minutes, Origin focuses, scans the night sky, autonomously aligns itself by matching star patterns to its internal database, and notifies you that you are ready to begin your astronomical adventure.
The application Celestron Origin, developed in collaboration with Simulation Curriculum, the creators of SkySafari™, offers an intuitive planetarium interface that simplifies navigation through the night sky.Using the planetarium view, hold your device up to the sky to look around using the "compass mode" and touch any object you want to see (the best ones are highlighted).Or try the Best of Tonight list, where Origin shows the most impressive galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and more, based on your precise location and time of observation.Forget about consulting a star map or planning ahead;Origin is ready to show you the universe when you are.
Once you have chosen a target, Origin centers it precisely in the field of view.Switch to camera view and press Start Image to start capturing 10-second exposures. It's easy! You will see the results in real time as the target acquires more and more detail. While Origin is working, it continuously tracks the sky and adjusts its built-in dew prevention system to keep your images sharp.
A shared cosmic experience
Gone are the days of waiting in line to look through an eyepiece.Origin fosters a sense of community by sharing the awesome experience of exploring the night sky together.Whether your friends and family are in the same room or gathered outside, several people can connect to Origin and stream the view with their own devices. In addition, Origin allows you to stream the live feed to your smart TV or instantly save and share your astroimages, creating memorable moments beyond the confines of your backyard.
Ready for more?Advanced features
As you grow in the hobby along with Origin, it will continue to support you with more advanced features and functionality. For example, Origin has a built-in filter drawer that accepts standard 1.25" and 2" format filters. This allows you to install optional filters, which can be especially useful for imaging nebulae in light-polluted environments, such as the typical suburban backyard. To image broadband objects such as galaxies and star clusters or dark sky objects, remove the filter for more light flux and brighter images.Experiment with removable and interchangeable filters to get results you cannot achieve with fixed filters in other systems.
If you want to try advanced image processing, Origin again has you covered.Unlike other systems, Origin stores all images unprocessed by you.Connect via USB to import them into your favorite image processing software for editing and manual stacking.
How about putting Origin to work for you while you sleep? That is no problem with the scheduled observations function.Simply tell the application which objects you want to capture. You will wake up to a variety of spectacular images.
Get a new perspective here on Earth
In addition to revealing distant worlds, Origin can also capture incredible views of terrestrial objects on Earth, day or night.During the day, you can rotate Origin manually to capture landscapes and scenery. At night, Origin's fast optics and sensitive camera allow you to see things in very dark ambient conditions for near night vision-like performance.Look around your garden or campsite at night to see what you might miss!
Take your astro-imaging studio anywhere
Origin is a portable system that does not require external WiFi networks, so you can easily take it into dark, remote skies in any car.The optical tube, mount and tripod are easily assembled and disassembled without tools. Each component weighs less than 16 lbs. Optional carrying cases are also available.
Your Origin system comes complete with everything you need to instantly become an astronomer:

SUMMARY OF GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- The new frontier of observation and astrophotography: with the new SMART Telescope Celestron Origin will be able to capture stunning images of celestial objects in the deep sky directly from your smartphone or tablet. Images obtained with a few seconds of exposure will be better than what you would see through the eyepiece of a much larger telescope under a much darker sky.
- Revolutionary RASA Optical Technology: The patented optical design of RASA's Celestron Origin is a 6-inch, f/2.2 f/2.2 Schmidt Rowe-Ackermann (RASA) astrograph for unprecedented image brightness and clarity.
- Automatic astrophotography with artificial intelligence: Artificial intelligence algorithms integrated into Celestron Origin autonomously process each frame in real time, generating sharp, detailed and brilliantly colored images of galaxies and nebulae, all without user intervention.
- Automatic setup with StarSense: place the Origin under the night sky, turn it on and connect to the app with your smartphone or tablet. Using the patented StarSense technology from Celestron, origin will scan the sky and align. The focus is automatic. Select a celestial object and start photographing in less than two minutes.
- The application Celestron Origin for iOS and Android offers a simple, intuitive and comprehensive interface.
- Sharing is at the heart of the Origin experience: multiple users can use the Origin app to simultaneously view what the telescope is photographing. You can also stream the viewing to your SMART TV or save and share it later.
- Manual image processing: download raw image files and process them manually to your liking.
