The CELESTRON ADVANCED VX 9.25" SCT astronomical telescope is an excellent choice for mid-level astrophotographers looking for 33% more light gathering power than the 8" equivalent but without the extra weight of working with the 11" tube. There is not a single part of this telescope that weighs more than 9Kg so this telescope is easily transportable and easy to set up by one person. This Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at f/10 has CELESTRON's STARBRIGHT XLT optical treatment incorporated to improve the transmission coefficient and improve by 11% the optical performance of the treatments used by other brands. It is also supplied with a 6x30mm optical finder to facilitate the star alignment operation.

About the CELESTRON ADVANCED VX Mount

The new ADVANCED VX (AVX) mount has been specifically designed to provide the optimum performance in astrophotography in combination with small telescopes. Now if you have a small or medium diameter telescope you can take advantage of the All-Star Polar Alignment and autoguiding functions. You will be able to guide for long exposures thanks to the use of the permanent periodic error correction. Shoot across the meridian without having to reverse the position of the right ascension axis, so you can take uninterrupted shots in the best area of the night sky. The ADVANCED VX (AVX) mount features a significantly larger tripod mount base than the previous model, improving stability when working with heavy weights.
