Even the Hubble Space Telescope itself uses a Ritchey-Chrétien configuration. The PRO RC telescopes from Officina Stellare represent a further step in the art of professional instrument production.
The PRO RC design is a combination of 4 elements including two hyperbolic mirrors and two optical elements (lens type) designed by the most experienced optical engineers in order to provide optimal results in astronomical applications. The use of this 4-element system results in exceptional optical quality, suitable for the most demanding astrophotographers and for professional use. Maximum amount of transmitted light, maximum spectral range and a large, fully corrected field of view are the main features of the PRO RC design.
The PRO RC series telescopes from Officina Stellare cover the field of view of even the largest CCD with the smallest spot size available on the market today. Without the flattening lens group (easily removed by the user), and thanks to the versatility of the highly corrected hyperbolic design, professionals can even work with a reflector-only optical system, thus increasing the amount of transmitted light and maximizing the spectral range of transmission.

Optics
The telescopes of the PRO RC series of Officina Stellare are manufactured with the highest quality (authentic) Ritchey-Chrétien optical sets available today. All telescopes are equipped with their own interferometric report, verifying the quality of the product to each customer. Our standard diameters range from 250mm to 600mm diameter and we offer the option to select the substrate glass for the mirrors in LK7/Pyrex or AstroSitall (low coefficient of expansion).
Mechanics
The carbon fiber and aluminum component structure of the PRO RC telescopes from Officina Stellare has been designed and optimized with CAD and computer modeling software to achieve the highest rigidity and lightness of the system. All parts are CNC machined to ensure the highest possible precision.
Only special aluminum alloys, stainless steel and bronze are used for the metal parts. A high-strength anodization or multilayer paint finish results in high durability against extreme weather conditions. Unique and exclusive design of the primary and secondary mirror support cells. Measures have been taken to avoid at all costs the induction of astigmatism in the mirrors and mirror shifting. Thermal stability is achieved as quickly as possible thanks to the mechanical design of the lift cells and the presence of three high-quality fans. Rigid and efficient collimation system.
In the whole production process special attention has been paid to several details: computer design of the anti-reflection baffles, focal plane tilt adjustment, large extraction of the focusing tube, high precision in the spherical joint in the truss structure, double parallel dividing ring for the secondary mirror/spider holder, micrometric radial adjustment of the spider, manual or motorized movement of the secondary mirror without possibility of shifting, special opaque painting for all sensitive parts of the optical path, etc.
