The new SkyWatcher EvoStar 72/420mm ED refractor telescope is an apochromatic telescope of 72mm diameter and 420mm focal length. Its objective is composed of an apochromatic doublet (2 lenses) with multilayer treatment and a fully polished low dispersion ED glass. This results in a lens that minimizes light diffusion and improves sharpness and contrast.

The apochromatic objective lens has multilayer coatings with high light transmission. This treatment is called MHC. In addition, the optics of the telescope Skywatcher EvoStar 72 ED is protected by a generous sunshield that will allow you to extend the observation time by delaying the appearance of dew.

In astrophotography, the 72 ED Black Diamond EvoStar will give you excellent wide-field images. It is therefore ideal for obtaining large nebulae, clusters or larger galaxies, such as the Andromeda galaxy. It is therefore ideal for imaging large field objects.

The optical tube is made of aluminum and is equipped with a Crayford focusing system with a 1:10 reduction ratio. This important reduction translates into a focusing accuracy that will facilitate the focusing process in astrophotography and also for visual focusing. With a diameter of 2" (50.8mm) it is a robust focuser with a reasonable load capacity. It also incorporates a focus locking screw.

The tube has two rings that attach to a 12cm long dovetail which allows the tube to be attached to almost any type of equatorial mount. And for the safest possible transport, the telescope is supplied with an aluminum case that effectively protects it from shocks.

The new EQM-35 mount is the major evolution of the small NEQ3-2 equatorial mount. Although very practical, the NEQ3-2 is not optimal for astrophotographic use. Therefore, Sky-Watcher finally presents this new version with the modularity of the Star Adventurer series, which already inherits the distinctly astrophotographic functionality.

The result is a very versatile and highly modular mount, it is a conventional equatorial mount whose configurations are identical to those of the Star Aventurer range. The great advantage is its maximum load capacity of 10 kg, which allows it to accept Newton Newton 200/1000 or 150/750 optical tubes for visual use, or a 120 mm or 150 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain. From a photographic point of view, such a load capacity gives a lot of freedom, allowing the installation of large professional cameras or long focal length telephoto lenses, always keeping a very good balance.

The straight ascender shaft has undergone an impressive redesign and has grown in diameter and strength, with more massive bearings than on the EQ3-2. As a direct result, the drive gear increases from 130 to 180 teeth, greatly improving tracking accuracy.

The highlight of the EQM-35 mount is its ability to transform into an astrophoto mount. Once the declination head is removed, we get the same options offered by the Star Adventurer mounts: ball joint, guiding system, L-bracket with or without counterweight bar...

Whatever the configuration, the functionality of the polar finder provided is fully preserved.

The Sky-Watcher EQM-35 Pro Goto modular equatorial mount is equipped as standard with a Goto automatic aiming system, it carries an original control box to manage the mount settings for classical and astrophotographic configuration. Disassembling the declination axis, and therefore the motor associated with it, does not impede the tracking and guiding functions in AR. Of course, in the absence of a Dec motor, Goto pointing is disabled. The SynScan control knob completes the set.
