The OMEGON AC 70/900mm EQ-1 telescope is the ideal telescope to get started in the hobby of astronomy. The fascinating view of the Moon, stars and planets will delight those astronomy enthusiasts who have been waiting for a long time to discover the secrets of the Universe.
The 70/900optical system:
With an aperture of 70mm, this refractor has a light potential 100 times larger than the human eye and therefore considerably outperforms also classic beginner telescopes with slightly smaller aperture of 60mm. This means that it has a higher resolution and, with its maximum magnification of 140x, already provides details of the large planets such as Saturn, Jupiter and Mars . The Moon is also a very interesting object: you can get an excellent view of the lunar surface with its craters, which, depending on the phase, have different aspects. Interesting observations of nature are also possible during the day and with the support of an inverting prism or an Amici prism. You focus the system by means of a focusing wheel on the attachment tube of the eyepiece holder, which drives the rack-and-pinion system. In this way you can precisely adjust the system and set it for observation.
The optical system is also ideal for use as a guide tube, combined with a large telescope for autoguiding astrophotography

- Easy to mount in a few minutes
- 1.25" eyepiece holder
- 36% more light gathering power than a 60mm telescope
- Comes with many accessories that add value to the telescope
- Ideal for children and adults who want to get started.
The EQ-1mount:
This equatorial mount allows you to perform alignment with the North Star. The inclination of the polar axis can be adjusted according to the latitude without any problems. By fine movement of the right ascension and declination axes it is possible to adjust and trackobjects. A counterweight ensures the correct balance of the optical system.
We supply the EQ-1 mount in two variants, with floor tripod or table tripod; details can be found in the technical documentation. The floor tripod can be adjusted and positioned with a height between 70cm and 120 cm, in the accessory holder you can place eyepieces or other accessories. The table tripod is very compact and lightweight, making it the ideal choice for excursions or travel. The smaller EQ mount is extremely light and compact, it fits in almost every travel bag. Novice users can mount it without any problems, even children will be able to use it. As an option we offer a tracking motor for mounting on the straight ascent axis.
