ATTENTION: Starsense Explorer series telescopes are not always compatible with cell phones manufactured before 2016. Phone requirements are: Android 7.1.2 or higher / iPhone 6 or higher. The cell phone has to be equipped with camera, gyroscope and accelerometer (refer to the list of compatible phones at the bottom of the datasheet of this product).
The new series of telescopes Celestron StarSense Explorer represents a new way of observing the night sky. A true revolution that is already part of the StarSense Explorer product portfolio Celestron.
To date, the catalog of Celestron was composed of two large families of altazimuth instruments: the hand-mounted and the computerized NexStars. With the new Star Sense Explorer series we have reinvented the way astronomy is practiced in the amateur world.
Forget complicated star charts, inaccurate planetary applications and expensive computerized mounts. With telescopes Celestron Star Sense Explorer, finding celestial objects has never been so easy and fast. Place your cell phone in the holder on top of the telescope and launch the StarSense Explorer application. Once the smartphone is aligned with the telescope (a process that only takes a couple of minutes), you will have all the beauties of the night sky ready to be observed. Once the desired object has been selected from those currently visible, simply follow the instructions on the screen of your cell phone, moving the telescope to center the celestial object you wish to observe, whether it is the Moon, a planet, galaxy or nebula.
The StarsenseExplorer application allows you to select the object to observe from the list of visible objects. It will then show you the direction in which you will have to move to find it, zooming in and out, until you are pointing at the target. Now you only have to observe it through the eyepiece of the telescope. Unlike all other systems available on the market, including astronomical applications, the patented StarsenseExplorer system AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZES, through the brightest stars, the exact position of the telescope in the sky.
How does object targeting work?
1) Choose the object you want to observe from the list proposed by the Star Sense Explorer application.
2) The Star Sense Explorer application will show you in which direction to start moving the telescope manually.
3) Move the telescope following the instructions shown in the application.
4) Once the object is centered, you can start observing it.
The App Celestron Star Sense Explorer is compatible with most cell phones on the market, either iOS or Android.
The altazimuth mount with micrometric movements on both axes allows you to precisely target any celestial object. Simply follow the instructions on the screen of your cell phone to get exciting glimpses of the most beautiful celestial objects in the night sky. Even from city skies, thanks to the telescope's generous diameter, in addition to the planets and the Moon, you will also have available for viewing many of the most beautiful celestial objects in the night sky, such as the Andromeda Galaxy, the Orion Nebula and many of the star clusters visible from Earth.
In addition to the mount and adjustable tripod with accessory tray, the instrument also includes the optical tube, two eyepieces, a red dot finder and a diagonal prism with straightened image display.
