The CT series of Ultranewtonian telescopes from the manufacturer ORION OPTICS UK brings together the best elements of the extensive product range they manufacture and merges them into a single instrument.

With the CT telescopes , ORION OPTICS UK far surpasses what any other telescope of this type and range can offer.

With a carbon fiber tube and optics called ULTRA GRADE OPTICS by the manufacturer (with a wavefront perturbation of 1/10 PV), the CT Ultranewtonians will astound everyone with their clarity and potential.

It is important to remember that when we talk about a PV (Peak to Valley) perturbation, we are referring to the distortion that the wavefront suffers when passing through the optical system (mainly referring to the reflection in the mirrors). Logically, the smaller this distortion is, the better, as this will result in a much sharper and more defined image. Therefore, having an optic with a 1/10 PV wave front is much better than having one with 1/8 PV.

All models in the ORION OPTICS UK CT series benefit from the same elements, so just select the type of diameter you want and the relevant focal ratio.

Each model carries the carbon fiber tube, has optics at 1/10 PV of the wavefront and the famous HiLux optical treatments. A spider with 4 steel axes, the primary located in a cell with 9 suspension points, OC1 focuser with 10:1 speed reduction and 8x50mm finder.

The CT scopes have a carbon fiber reinforced structure finished in an attractive glossy enamel on the outside, while the inside has a matte black finish. They also offer maximum structural stability with virtually zero expansion/dilation coefficient to keep the focal plane unchanged.

The primary mirror support is the numerically controlled machined cell with 9 support points created by ORION OPTICS UK. This allows to maintain the precision in the mirror position and therefore to guarantee the perfect image quality.

Also at the rear, where the primary is housed, is where the fan cooling system is located to minimize the time taken for the tube to thermally acclimatize.

The fans can be left permanently in operation. ORION OPTICS UK's precision focuser, the OC1 has a silky smooth touch with a 10:1 reduction that will give maximum focusing accuracy. A variable speed electronic focuser is also available as an additional accessory (this option involves replacing the 10:1 focuser).

A quality 50mm achromatic finder is included with the telescopes to aid in locating fainter objects. Eyepieces are not included as standard with ORION OPTICS UK CT telescopes.
