Advanced planetary newton reflector optical tube TS-PHOTON 8" F6 with Quartz primary
TS-Photon 8" f/6 Planetary Newtonian for visual observation and planetary photography
This PHOTON series telescope is a TOP choice for committed observers and photographers of the moon and planets. This Newtonian is optimized for exactly that purpose and offers the best possible performance. Nebulae, star clusters and galaxies can also be observed - enjoy millimeter stars across the entire field of view!
Impressive and uncompromising image quality, comparable to a 150 mm apo, is achieved by a hand-selected primary mirror made of fused quartz and a small secondary mirror with a diameter of 50 mm.
The advantages of our PHOTON series at a glance:
♦ Optimal sharpness of the moon and planets
♦ With only 10 kg weight, this telescope is still transportable and can be operated with rather small mounts
♦ Linear obscuration only 25%; anyway very good illumination, even with 2" eyepieces
♦ Due to the f f/6 ratio, high sharpness over the entire field of view is achieved, even with expensive wide-field eyepieces
♦ Rigid 2" Crayford focuser with micro gear reduction of 1:10 for precise focusing and 1.25" reduction
♦ Steel tube and mirror mounts made of metal, allowing optimum collimation stability
♦ Only with TS: optional carbon tube for extra rigidity
Mirror material fused quartz:
Each material has its respective thermal expansion coefficient. This value determines how the mirror reacts when the temperature changes. The lower this coefficient, the less the mirror reacts to these temperature changes. This means faster preparation for use and higher overall image quality.
A mirror made of fused quartz has no significant thermal expansion, which makes it superior to most other mirror materials such as Pyrex or Suprax, similar to Zerodur. We recommend the fused quartz mirror for its excellent surface for the construction of high-resolution Newtonian telescopes for observing the moon and planets.
Astrophotography with the TS-PHOTON 8" f/6 Newtonian:
The telescope is optimized for visual observation and photography of the moon and planets. The 40 mm focus position is ideal for planetary cameras.
With astronomical cameras, for example from ZWO, you can focus without problems. A coma corrector is not necessary up to a sensor size of about 20 mm diameter. The combination with the new ZWO ASI533MC-P and this f/6 Newtonian allows exciting deep sky images with high resolution, without corrections. Even infrared photography is possible.
DSLR cameras, on the other hand, require a converter that shifts the focal plane outward. With the 2" Barlow + Photo Converter TSB22 photo-visual lens you will achieve exactly that.
TECHNICAL FEATURES:
♦ Aperture 200 mm / Focal length 1200 mm / F Ratio F6
♦ High quality parabolic primary mirror made of quartz glass (comparable to Zerodur) without thermal expansion for immediate use
♦ 94% reflectivity for a bright and contrast-rich image
♦ Secondary mirror with 50 mm minor axis - Obstruction only 25% - good illumination, even with 2" eyepieces
♦ Image quality comparable to 6" apo with no chromatic aberration and very bright image.
♦ Primary mirror cell and secondary mirror holder made of metal - not cheap plastic - fully adjustable (secondary mirror holder image - left)
♦ Accurate 2" Crayford focuser with 1:10 micro gear reduction for precise focusing: focuser included!
♦ Rigid steel tube instead of bent aluminum tube: provides better collimation stability
♦ Convenient collimation aid on primary mirror - center mark
♦ Optimized focusing position for observation with all common eyepieces and Barlow lenses
♦ Tube rings, 8x50 finder telescope and primary mirror fan included
