Multiple power supply Geoptik VARIUS.

The VARIUS project of Geoptik was born from the idea of having a single power supply with sufficient amperage (20 A) with a voltage of 12 V, which can be used for several devices at the same time.

VARIUS also solves the problem of cables around the telescope going from the traditional battery to the various devices since VARIUS is placed at the top of the telescope. In this way there are no cables that can disturb the movements of the mount. In practice, only the general power cable reaches the VARIUS, from which the other cables that feed all the devices (filter wheel, CCD's, electric focusers...) branch off

It has a dedicated output for the computer and 4 high speed USB2 ports for data collection devices. Another peculiarity is its variable power output from 4.5 to 10.5V with 2A. This practical function is accessed with an on/off button that activates the variable mode by adjusting the voltage via a potentiometer.

The set voltage can be viewed on a red LCD display that can be turned off at will. VARIUS is attached to the telescope, on the rings or on the mount with a specially designed small shoe so that it can be removed with a single click.

It is built with safety systems to cut off the power supply when the set consumption limits are exceeded. The system will reactivate once the component that caused the excess consumption is removed.

The VARIUS kit you will find at Telescopiomania is supplied with a power supply cable to be used with the car battery with quick release clamps. It is possible to remove the quick release clamps if you want to use a battery with screw terminals.

It is also supplied with a watertight carrying case.

The heart of VARIUS is an original and unique electronic board, designed exclusively for Geoptik, thus guaranteeing reliability and completely safe use.
