Product Details

Opaque filter TS for Dark in 2" images

This filter does not let light through and is therefore used to create dark frames. In this case, it replaces the laborious task of covering the telescope, which normally has to be done at the front of the tube. The application is simple:

♦ Dark filter inside, make dark image.
♦ Dark filter outside, if necessary R/G/B filter or nebula inside and start shooting.

Also, you can use the filter as dust protection, which, unlike other filters such as an LPR, does not produce a misleading image if you forget to remove it: the image is just black.

Telescopiomania tip: Using the filter really saves time if you screw the filter into a filter drawer or a filter wheel, with motorized filter wheels being, of course, the most elegant solution.

This black filter keeps light out and simplifies the creation of dark framing. It is no longer necessary to cover the telescope.
