Large Off-Axis Radial Guide OAG-L from ZWO with 12x12mm prism
OAG-L has a large prism size of 12 * 12mm, much larger than M68 OAG. The larger clear aperture provides a wider field of view when guiding. It is easy to use and suitable for users interested in long focal length photography.
To get the most out of it, we recommend that you combine it with large format guiding cameras.
Features:
- Lightweight and exquisite, 17.5mm thick.
- Prism size: 12 * 12 mm.
- The effective aperture of light passage is 11.7mm * 8.3mm.
- Can be used to connect the main camera and guide camera simultaneously. No guide telescope is required.
- Packaged with M48 (5 mm) sensor tilt plate.
Operating guide:
- For guiding, OAG-L can only work with ASI Mini cameras such as ASI174MM Mini, ASI290MM Mini and ASI120MM Mini.
- Considering the large size of the prism, we do not recommend using OAG-L with telescopes whose clear aperture is smaller than M48.
- However, it is recommended for use with 2" EFW or 7x36mm EFW and with APS-C cameras (ASI2600) or full frame cameras (ASI6200 / 2400). The large clear aperture supports full frame cameras without vignetting.
- The main differences between OAG-L and M68 OAG are the size of the prism and the threads. OAG-L removed the internal threads so you can use the screws directly to attach it to other equipment.
- If the thread on the side of your telescope is M48, then you don't need to remove the M48 sensor tilt plate that comes with OAG-L. Instead, you should remove it and use some other sensor tilt plate on the corresponding thread of your telescope.
