The G2OAG is equipped with M48 × 0.75 thread on the telescope side, with a rear focal length of 55 mm. This means that the G2 camera with OAG can be used on numerous optical systems, including Newtonian coma correctors, field flatteners for refractors, etc.
Adapters with M48 × 0.75 thread are less common, but offer more space and the mirror is fully illuminated. More and more manufacturers of correctors and adapters are moving to the M48 × 0.75 thread standard.
The mirror used to deflect light into the guide camera has an area of 10 × 7 mm (mirror dimensions are 10 × 10 mm, but the mirror is set at an angle at 45 degrees). This is sufficient for guide cameras with 2/3" large-format detectors without causing any significant vignetting.
