Its relatively short focal length (650mm) makes the National Geographic 130/650mm a compact telescope fully specialized for wide-field observing where you can enjoy objects such as open star clusters and nebulae. With the National Geographic 130/650mm you can observe the Milky Way in summer, the Pleiades in winter and the Great Orion Nebula, as well as many other star clusters, throughout the rest of the year.
With its sturdy German Equatorial mount, Telescopiomania encourages you to align this telescope with the North Star (Polar Alignment) and in this way, following the astronomical objects by hand will be extremely easy as you will only have to move the slow motion knob on the Right Ascension axis.
