ASKAR Colour Magic C Duo-band filter set 2" C
Using the Colour Magic 2" C duo-band filter set you can effectively enhance image contrast, making it easier to bring out detailed features of objects that would otherwise be difficult to capture. You can take high-quality images of the deep sky even in areas affected by urban light pollution and other light sources.
We call the dual-band Hα+OⅢ filter "C1" and the dual-band SⅡ+OⅡ+OⅢ filter "C2", so their combination is the Colour Magic C 2" dual-band filter package. It enables color camera users to shoot without mono camera and narrow band H/S/O filter, providing more fun of astrophotography.
With efficient and excellent image performance and a fun and innovative shooting experience, let Colour Magic C duo-band filters become your great tool for capturing the beautiful moments of the universe!
Premium construction
Askar has designed these dual band filters with quality in mind. Both filters are 2 ± 0.05 mm thick and offer high performance with their nominal 90% transmission within their respective wavelengths. Enjoy crystal clear images thanks to the impressive 60/40 surface finish as well as the barrier property of OD3 at 200-1000 nm.
The new Color Magic C 2" Duo-band Color Magic C 2" Filter Set from Askar is a professional astrophotography tool designed specifically for deep sky imaging. The Hα+OⅢ duo-band filter is "C1" and the SⅡ+OⅢ is "C2", so their combination is the Color Magic C 2" duo-band filter package.
Using the Color Magic 2" C duo-band filter pack Color Magic 2" C can effectively enhance image contrast, making it easier to bring out the detailed features of objects that would otherwise be difficult to capture. You can take high-quality images of the deep sky even in areas affected by urban light pollution and other light sources.
When photographing deep sky galaxies with color cameras, a dual-band filter is typically used in the Hα + OⅢ bands; whereas with a mono camera, a narrow-band filter is typically used in the Hα, SⅡ and OⅢ bands, causing users with color cameras to miss out on a band of nebulae detail. This can be compensated for by using the Colour Magic C2 Duo-band filter (SⅡ+OIII).
Colour Magic C Duo-band Colour Magic C filters have a high transmittance of more than 90% at central wavelengths:
C1 (Hα+OIII): 500.7 nm and 656.6 nm
C2 (SII+OIII): 500,7nm and 672nm
Color Magic C Duo-band filters can effectively improve image quality by darkening the celestial background of the image and maximizing contrast throughout the image, enhancing the contrast of your photographs and making it easier to see star details. In areas with very severe light pollution, these filters can also selectively filter out light pollution and cluttered signals through the nebula's emission lights to achieve the ideal shooting effect.
These filters have a wider passband and are a more economical alternative to the "D" filter set from Askar.

Emission nebulae imaging
Emission nebulae are celestial bodies that emit a certain wavelength of light, typically in the Ha, SII and OIII bandpasses. This filter Askar Colour Magic C1 has a peak transmittance of 90% at 500.7nm (OIII) and 656.6nm (Ha), while the C2 filter has a peak transmittance of 90% at 500.7nm (OIII) and 672nm (SII). The isolation of these wavelengths reveals intricate details within the nebulosity discerning them from the light-polluted background sky. In post-processing, mapping SII to red, Ha to green and OIII to blue results in the popular Hubble (SHO) palette.
