SkyWatcher Mak127 AZ-Go2 Wifi Telescope
The SkyWatcher Mak127 AZ-Go2 Wifi combines convenience and performance. Being twice as bright as the Mak90, observing deep sky objects becomes more obvious. In planetary photography, the higher resolution allows you to start imaging with good results. The primary mirror, combined with the secondary mirror and a multi-layer concave corrector plate, gives surprising results. The observation of Saturn with its rings is fantastic. Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system, reveals fine details of its atmosphere.
The Moon is a wonder to behold for years, as the number of craters on its surface is very large. There is no chromaticity, unlike achromatic refractor telescopes. The tube is very compact and the set is easily transportable. Complemented with long focal length eyepieces, the observation of the brightest deep sky objects, such as the Great Orion Nebula (M42), the Cluster of Hercules (M13) or the Double Cluster of Perseus, will satisfy both the beginner and the curious amateur. Under a dark sky, other objects (those in the Messier catalog in particular) can be easily distinguished.
Focusing, a key element in obtaining quality images, is accomplished by translating the primary mirror to provide a sufficient focusing path with many accessories. Thermal equilibration (especially the cooling of the corrector plate) is fast (well under 30 minutes).
The SynScan Go-To auto localization system
This version of the AZ GOTO mount (without control knob) requires the download of the free SynScan application. You can then control your mount directly with your smartphone or tablet thanks to a Wifi card integrated in the mount. When the connection is activated you can control your mount from the SynScan App with the same functionality as with your control remote.
To offer more convenience to the user, SkyWatcher has decided to equip part of its range of instruments with a motorized dual-axis azimuth and GOTO mount capable of fast pointing and tracking. Thus, it is not necessary to know the position of stars or distant deep sky stars, the SkyWatcher AZ-Go2 mount moves the instrument towards the target you want to observe. After calibration, orientation of the optical tube to North and leveling, select the alignment of the mount on one or two stars. More than 42,900 objects from the main catalogs (Messier, NGC, IC, as well as planets, Moon and Sun) are stored in the database.
For maximum convenience, the mount is quickly moved via the buttons of the SynScan app on your smartphone or tablet. Easy to use, it helps to quickly point the instrument to any galaxy, nebula, cluster or object in the solar system. Discover in detail the famous Andromeda galaxy, the fabulous curtains surrounding the heart of Orion, the M13 Hercules cluster and its rich core of thousands of stars. Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon are also wonders to be scrutinized without restraint.
The date, time and location display on your tablet or smartphone, combined with the "Tour" feature, allows you to point the AZ-Go2 at the most interesting objects throughout the night. Take a guided tour of the sky at your observing location based on the object displayed in a drop-down list.
The ability to track (monitor) any object eliminates the need for systematic manual adjustments. The object remains in the center of the field, making it easy to discover details, especially on planets. Thanks to a carrying capacity of about 5 kg, the Sky-Watcher Mak127mm telescope is well supported and vibrations are quickly damped despite the presence of a single-arm fork. The telescope is attached with a male dovetail Vixen; the instrument is then easily and quickly detachable from the mount. Another interesting point in the long term is that the mount is upgradeable: you can attach other instruments (binoculars, refractors) thanks to its female dovetail mount type Vixen.
You can also use the "point-and-forward" function, point with your smartphone to a region of the sky... thanks to the SynScan App the mount will move directly there. Updates will be continuously developed to increase the functionality of the app. Possibility of PC control over Wifi, compatibility with ASCOM and EQMOD.
