Optical Tube Vixen VISAC VC200-L with Dual Speed
The famous VISAC (Vixen's Six-order Aspherical Cassegrain) VC200-Lcatadioptric telescope is an original VIXEN design featuring an aspheric primary mirror with a sixth-order correction, a convex secondary mirror and a triplet of corrector lenses. It is a particular variant of a Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope that does not have a Maksutov corrector lens at the front of the tube but has it integrated just in front of the secondary mirror, thus minimizing the thermalization and light absorption problems of traditional Maksutov-Cassegrain.
The VISAC design achieves a photographic field virtually free of aberrations. As coma, spherical and field curvature aberrations are corrected to perfection, images are rendered with astonishing sharpness and resolving power.
Its fantastic performance in astrophotography and its reasonable price have given it a well-deserved recognition, even comparing its performance with those offered by higher priced telescopes.
