Shelyak Star Analyser 200 Diffraction Grating
The STAR ANALYSER 200 is a fantastic Diffraction Grating for spectroscopy. In a 1.25" format inserted in an aluminum kite as if it were a 31.8mm filter, this Diffraction Grating will allow very complete studies of the light originating from the stars.
Use and applications:
- Professional astronomers use in their daily routine the power of spectroscopy to reveal the secrets of the Universe. Now, the STAR ANALYSER 200 allows amateur astronomers to do the same for a very affordable price.
- In a format equivalent to 1.25" filters, the STAR ANALYSER 200 is ideal for use with today's entry-level CCD cameras, webcams and video cameras.
- For example, with the use of a humble 80mm diameter tube and an unmodified webcam, the hidden features of stars up to magnitude +4 can be revealed. With a 200mm diameter telescope and an astrophotography camera with long exposure sensitivity, even Supernovae and bright novae can be identified and even the expansion of the universe can be measured by studying the redshift of a Quasar.
Features:
- Diffraction grating with high quality transmission and mounted on a 1.25" aluminum filter barrel.
- The Diffraction Grating is protected by an Anti-Reflection treated glass.
- High efficiency design with 200 lines/mm.
- Easy to use: simply screw into the 1.25" nosepiece of the camera as if it were a filter.
- The direction of the spectrum is marked on the filter cell. A locking ring maintains the orientation.
- Optimized to work with small CCD sensors such as those found in the most popular and common webcams and CCD cameras.
- The distance of the reticle containing the Diffraction Grating can be varied by the use of spacer rings which should be purchased separately.
- Can also be installed in an eyepiece for use in visual observation.
