Always attentive to the performance of astrophotography equipment, the Chinese company ZWO offers a new version of its ZW30F4 mini guide telescope. With an aperture of 30 mm, a focal length of 150 mm (f/5) and a weight of 348 g, this new version will be discreet in your astrophotography equipment. Focusing is achieved by raising and lowering the lens via a ring/counter-ring system, and a locking screw and graduated scale have been added for accuracy. The camera guide can be mounted using either the 31.75 mm thread or an M42x0.75 thread.
Optically, the use of ED glass ensures better performance, with finer guide stars and less chromaticity. The focal length increases slightly to suit the instruments it guides, up to 750 mm. An eyepiece can also be inserted for use as a conventional visual finder.
The ZWO 30F5 mini-guiding telescope is equipped with a Synta-type dovetail for easy mounting on a wide range of telescopes. The dovetail can also be removed, allowing this finder to be mounted directly on other mounts.
