SkyTech EOS QuadBand Clip-on Filter for DSLR cameras (including those modified with astronomy technology)

Tri-Band is the ideal light pollution filter for deep sky imaging with color DSLR cameras in extreme light pollution conditions, even within city limits.

The passband makes it compatible with fast focal ratio lenses up to F1.9.

It includes UVIR blocking for modified and unmodified DSLR cameras, plus an anti-reflection coating to reduce halos as much as possible.

Narrow-band bicolor imaging is a growing new trend in astrophotography, especially popular in areas with light pollution or for imaging in rural areas by moonlight.

Now you can capture both main bands of emission nebulae at the same time, while suppressing light pollution, moonlight and atmospheric glare. Capture more data in less time and extend your imaging window, even in the summer months.

SkyTech's four-band filters work by isolating the emission zones of primary nebulae in the red and blue/green wavelengths, and separating them into two main "zones" with a wide separation for easy capture with a color camera, all in a single exposure! Not only is capture very convenient, but processing is also easy, thanks to the wide separation of the green/blue and red "zones". Light pollution control is extremely effective and LED light is also significantly reduced, thanks to Rayleigh scattering effects.

Quad band: combines SII and Ha in a red zone and H-beta + OIII in a green/blue zone. These zones are easy to process and enhance with the colors of your choice.

why choose a SkyTech clip-on filter?

It can be inserted or removed in seconds. All lens functions (focus, preview screen, image stabilization) work as usual.

If you have a scope with little space between the reducer/flattener and the camera and filter wheel, a clip-on filter is the solution.

It protects the sensor from dust buildup during long exposures when the mirror is up.

Technical specifications:

  • Fine optical polishing to ensure accurate 1/4 wavefront and 1/4 parallelism

Dichroic filter coatings:

Multi-layer anti-reflection coating (AR coating). Additional UV and IR blocking layer.

Special high homogeneity coating process with electron beam gun evaporation and ion-assisted deposition coating technology for durability and scratch resistance as well as CWL (center wavelength) stability without drift with temperature change.

Four-band CWL OSC filter:

  • 1.1st band, CWL 495 nm FWHM 35 nm
  • 2.1st band, CWL 660 nm FWHM 35 nm
  • 1 mm thick optical glass with 30 arc second parallelism.
  • UVIR blocker and anti-reflective coating.
