Askar 71 mm f/6.9 Astrograph APO

The Askar 71F is an OTA with an aperture of 71 mm, a focal length of 490 mm and a native focal ratio of f/6.9.

The Askar 71F adopts quadruple air-spaced APO lens design, including one piece of ED glass, which can effectively reduce chromatic aberration. The Askar 71F supports 44 mm full-frame imaging with excellent performance of the surrounding star points.

The Askar 71F is a self-planing design that allows users to avoid calculating back focus and purchasing an additional flattener; after attaching imaging accessories, users can directly use it to shoot after the OTA is in focus. This further reduces the cost and enhances the pleasure of photography.


Lightweight instrument for visual use
Taking into account the practicality and versatility, the weight and size of the Askar 71F are effectively controlled, making them easy to transport and use. The Askar 71F OTA weighs only 2.5 kg and the gross weight is 3 kg (including tube rings and dovetail plate).

The Askar 71F is versatile in its use, allowing both visual observation and astrophotography. For users' convenience, Askar has also included three standard observing accessories for the 71F: an 8 mm eyepiece, a 20 mm eyepiece, and a 1.25-inch 45° vertical prism.

The 8 mm eyepiece has a magnification of 60x and the 20 mm eyepiece has a magnification of 25x. The Askar 71F can be used with different eyepieces depending on the object, and both eyepieces are ideal for bird and landscape observation.

Both eyepieces have a 1.25-inch cylinder and a rubberized top for a smooth and comfortable user experience.

The 1.25-inch 45° vertical prism provides correct left-to-right and bottom-to-top image views, making it easy for users to observe without the hassle of viewing inverted images up, down, left and right.


Astrophotography without complications
The Askar 71F also comes standard with a photographic extension tube, which includes M48*0.75 and M54*0.75 adapters, and also contains a built-in 2-inch filter thread for easy shooting connections. No matter connecting a traditional DSLR camera or a professional astronomical camera, it is very convenient to use. When users go out, they can directly connect photo accessories to record the beautiful view at any time.


Practical mechanics
The mechanical design of the Askar 71F adheres to the consistent philosophy of Askar to take into account user habits and minimize invisible user costs.

The spray guard of the Askar 71F has a retractable design, further shortening the overall length and increasing portability. The entire lens tube of the Askar 71F is manufactured by high quality CNC machining. The entire inside of the spray shield of the Askar 71F is coated with matte paint to effectively reduce stray light reflections. The blue and white color scheme makes the telescope appear more refined.

On the handlebars of the Askar 71F, designs a slot for the finder base. In addition, there are two finder bases on both sides of the finder, which not only eliminates the need for disassembly when changing the finder position but also provides additional mounting positions for other astronomical accessories.

In terms of the focuser, the Askar 71F is equipped with a 2.4-inch dual-speed R&P rigid focuser, which has a 1:10 fine adjustment and a 360° scale field rotator at the rear end for precise angle adjustment.

The dovetail plate of the Askar 71F is a dovetail style dovetail plate Vixen 230 mm, which has 1/4" screw holes and 3/8" screw holes for direct attachment to the tripod.
