Focal compensator for Mark V 1:1.70 Baader Planetarium
Focal compensator for Mark V 1:1.70 Baader Planetarium
- Glass light path corrector, with a magnification factor of 1.7. Optical path length: -65 mm
- Mounting diameter: ∅ 38 mm
- Suitable for MOUNTING on Baader MaxBright binoculars (MaxBright® II and Mark V)
- a Baader Glaspath corrector is not a Barlow lens! The reason for this name (in Germany, the nameGlaswegkorrektor® is a registered trademark protected by Baader Planetarium) is only because it functions as a focal point shifter.
- A focal compensator is primarily intended to correct the prismatic color fringing that occurs in refractors due to the large number of lenses used in binocular prisms.
- Please note: The Baader MaxBright ® II binocular scope with case (no. 2456460, € 425,- ) is the only Baader binocular in which you can choose between the Zeiss dovetail adapter and the T-2 thread adapter.

Glasspathcorrector (GC) for Baader Binoviewers and others/Focal compensator for Mark V 1:1.70 Baader Planetarium.
Glass path correctors for lens, Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes
A glass path corrector serves two purposes: on the one hand, it eliminates color aberrations caused by binocular scope prisms in fast telescopes, and on the other hand, it moves the focus point outward so that you can achieve focus even in telescopes. with little backfocus. And you can use different glass path correctors to achieve additional magnification without buying a second pair of eyepieces.
Baader Glaswegkorrektor (GK) Factor 1.25 GC Factor 1.25 / Factor 1.70 / Factor 2.60
These three glass path correctors are inserted into the binocular viewfinder or T-2 prism. Which one you need depends on the available backfocus. You can find information on how to determine the backfocus of your telescope in the manuals for our binocular heads. Also note our special 2" glass path correctors for Newtonian or Lens and SC telescopes. Optical length reduction was measured with the 2" focuser of a Traveler 105 mm/f6 apochromatic with a pair of 35 mm ED eyepieces, the binocular scope (giant) with 90° T-2 diagonal prism and the glass path correctors. Measurement was performed with the GC placed between the prism and the binocular viewer. If the GC is placed in front of the prism, the optical length is reduced by approximately another 15 mm.

From the focuser contact surface - with T-2 90° prism | 162mm (does not reach focus) | 144mm | 122mm | 79mm |
straight, with 2" revolver (no prism, important for Newtonian) | 112mm | 94mm | 71mm | 28mm |
straight, with T-2 quick changer | 123mm | 105mm | 82mm | 39mm |
With these three lens systems, you can solve the focusing problems of almost all common telescope designs. The lens cell provides a thread for the dovetail Zeiss of our Großfeld (Giant) Bino and MaxBright® II as well as a T-2 clamping flange for MaxBright® and MaxBright® II! This flange can be clamped between the male and female threaded parts of each T-2 threaded connection (M 42x0.75). This way, you can start experimenting with many accessories that you could not use with your telescope before.
