Guided Camera SEDNA-M mono USB 3.0 (IMX178)
Sedna-M is a guided camera developed by Player One Astronomy, which adopts 1/1.8" format Sony IMX178 sensor. The pixel size of 2.4UM can accommodate a well depth of 15ke with a total of 6.4MP (resolution is 3096 * 2078), and the diagonal is 9mm.
Highlights
The guiding camera series incorporates a USB3.0 data port (500MB/s), which can provide more than 10 times the speed of USB2.0 device (60MB/s). No matter what you want to do with guiding or imaging, this camera series can handle it very well.
The camera diameter is 1.25 ″, it can slide into the 1.25 ″ guiding range adapter, makes the whole configuration shorter.
Cutting-edge design
Guiding chambers developed by Player One Astronomy use regular hexagon technology to build the main line of the body.
DPS Technology
Planetary cameras from Player One Astronomy incorporate dead pixel suppression (DPS) technology. DPS analyzes numerous dark images to find the anomalous fixed pixel and stores it in the camera's memory. In image capture, for each exposure image, the dead pixel position will be assigned an average value based on the active pixels around this anomalous pixel.
Over-voltage and over-current protection mechanism
Player One cameras produced by the number one manufacturer ensure the safety of your camera and other equipment thanks to overvoltage and overcurrent protection mechanisms.
Data port
When the camera is connected to the USB3.0 interface and full resolution preview is used, it can reach 60 FPS in RAW8 mode (10-bit ADC). When recording images, as the actual writing speed will be affected by the writing speed of the hard disk itself, when the writing speed of the hard disk is slow, the recording may not reach the theoretical speed. It is recommended to use a high quality SSD to record data in order to take full advantage of the camera's performance.
Use the ST4 guiding cable to connect the camera and the AUTO GUIDE port of the equatorial mount for guiding.
Performance
Read noise
As for read noise, we solemnly promise that all values are obtained from real tests. And for users, they can use SharpCap 4 to perform the tests. SC4 has a function called sensor analysis, which provides a very simple way to test read noise.
After many rigorous read noise tests, the Sedna-M camera can achieve a low read noise of 1.34e with a gain of 350.
If you are interested in performing read noise testing, you can try it yourself, which is very simple.
