Improved rigid equatorial mount.
A pair of ball bearings used to support R.A. brackets. The SXP shaft has changed to larger
tapered bearings for increased strength. The distance between bearing supports is extended to increase the
load capacity. A wall thickness of the R.A. Body housing is increased. The R.A. Body is trapped
firmly in the same fork arms as used for the high class AXJ equatorial mount.
This ensures a light weight but strong enough to hold the equatorial body.
Precise celestial tracking with P-PEC function The STAR BOOK TEN equipped with several functions is provided for the SXP2 equatorial mount
. Among them, the P-PEC function gives a great advantage to celestial tracking. The PEC stands for Periodic Error Corrections
and electrically rectifies the uneven movement of the tracking gears that is periodically generated and
inherited in gear-driven systems. For the SXP2 equatorial assembly, a P-PEC function is provided that is
advanced from the PEC function. The P-PEC function retains records of your corrections after the power is turned off at
the equatorial mount. It is not necessary to retrieve the data each time and achieves more accurate tracking quickly.
(The P-PEC function will only activate if STAR BOOK TEN is connected to the SXP-PFL, SXP2, AXJ or AXD2 equatorial mounts.
The belt drive system achieves minimum backlash and is much quieter.
