10Micron GM 4000 HPS II Mount
The 10MICRON HPS mounts are fast and among the most accurate mounts on the market but are smaller in size than their QCI predecessors and designed with portability in mind. The 10MICRON HPS mounts have an accuracy equivalent to that of direct drive mounts because they integrate a high precision encoder system in their axes.
The 10MICRON GM4000 HPS II mounts are among the mounts with the highest load capacity on the market, with 150kg (although our technicians at Telescopiomania do not recommend exceeding 125Kg), ideal for professional observatories and with an excellent price-quality ratio.
The 10MICRON GM4000 HPS II mount can be used with large diameter tubes offering the ability to go beyond the meridian at 30º without any problem. And if used with smaller diameter tubes it can even go beyond the Meridian to the horizon. This capability makes it especially suitable for robotic applications and long exposure astrophotography.
The 10MICRON GM4000 HPS II mount also offers a very elegant feature in that all cables can pass through the polar axis of the mount. In this way, all cables from the CCD, focuser, etc. can pass through the polar axis without dangling with the attendant risk of entanglement.
MECHANICAL FEATURES
- Maximum load capacity: 150 kg weight
- Optimal load capacity: 125 kg
- high precision positioning and tracking technology unit
- Aiming accuracy
- Tracking accuracy of +/- 1" - without additional autoguiding - thanks to direct encoders built into each axis.
- Response speed: .5°/s - suitable for satellite tracking
- Central cable through the mount
- Free of resonance vibrations caused by high frequency oscillations as it has no direct drive
- Extremely low heat compared to a direct drive, thus not noticeable.
ELECTRONIC FEATURES
- Smart electronics on board! An AMD processor works with sophisticated Linux firmware, allowing stand-alone functions that would otherwise have to be connected to a PC
- Operable in stand-alone mode (with handheld controller) or a PC
- Fully networked, integrated LAN interface, controllable over the Internet
- Fully pre-programmable, robotic operation is possible thanks to motion limits, position sensors and remote-controlled, on/off switching
- Separate autoguidance input
- GPS module can be connected
