The new CEM70 retains the characteristic appearance of the popular CEM mounts(center-balanced equatorial mount ). This design ensures a particularly good ratio between load capacity and weight. In the case of the CEM70 it is 2.3, i.e. the mount supports more than twice its own weight. This makes it not only suitable as a portable mount, but also ideal for use in observatories.
The stepper motors and toothed belt drive ensure high approach accuracy in GoTo mode and, above all, high tracking accuracy, with a periodic error of less than +/- 3.5 arcseconds, all with the usual pleasant silence of iOptron mounts.
The CEM70 mount is available in two variants: CEM70 and CEM70G
In addition to the above features, the standard variant offers:
- Integrated iPolar camera. It replaces the classic polar finder and allows accurate and convenient alignment from the handheld.
- Stepper motors (1.8° with 128 microsteps) for accurate approach and tracking movement.
- Go2Nova 8407 controller with integrated heating to prevent fogging of the large monitor.
- 32-channel GPS: computer control knows where you are at all times and what the date and time is to initialize the GoTo.
- Advanced cable routing system with connectivity for various accessories.
- Dual mount stand for prism rails compatible with Vixen and Losmandy standards. With its 20 cm length, this stand is capable of supporting even heavy optics.
- Large-format adjustment wheels are easy to operate even when wearing gloves.
Both variants of the CEM70 mount have an ST-4 interface for attaching a self-tracking camera for full tracking control for long exposure astrophotography.
The CEM70G variant integrates its own autoguider camera, the new iGuider from iOptron, eliminating the need for separate autoguider solutions.
In addition, it also includes WLAN (WiFi) and high-speed USB 3.0 interfaces for communication with an external computer (both laptop and desktop). The CEM70G mount is an extremely powerful astrophotography instrument that also leaves nothing to be desired in terms of payload.
Both variants of the CEM70 mount are supplied in a robust carrying case.
