This 0.76x focal reducer is designed for the FF80APO astrophoto refractor and provides a focal length of 312 mm...
ZWO has released a new 0.76x focal reducer for ZWO FF80APO scopes, compatible with 35mm full-frame sensors. This 3-inch focal reducer is based on a three-lens optic, which includes an ED glass element. Its reduction factor is 0.76x, giving the FF80APO f/7.5 astrophotographer a shortened focal ratio of f/5.7 and a shorter focal length of 312mm.
This allows for a reduced total exposure time and a wider image field, bringing greater convenience and possibilities for wide-field deep sky imaging.
The reducer has a rear thread that attaches to the focusing tube and is compatible with all rings supplied with the ZWO FF80APO refractor.
The "ideal" back throw to consider is 55mm from the M48x0.75mm thread.
Steps for attachment to the steady rest:
1. Take the FF80APO refractor tube and the focal reducer.
2. Unscrew the four-piece adapters at the end of the FF80APO tube.
3. Unscrew the 0.76X reducer end cap and screw it onto the M68 male thread of the scope ring assembly.
4. Unscrew the reducer end cap, insert it into the eyepiece holder tube and screw the assembly together.
