Trichromacy is a technique that consists of photographing the same object 3 times with a black and white sensor camera through 3 color calibrated filters and then assembling the individual images to obtain the object in its true colors. The three colors used are Red (Red or R), Green (Green or G) and Blue (Blue or B), abbreviated as RGB. Each color is perfectly calibrated, so only RGB filters can be used to make trichromes.
The LRGB filter set Optolong is designed for maximum contrast and extremely high color gradients, thus achieving an impressive color richness. The LRGB filter set divides the spectrum into its red, green, blue and luminance components. The OIII emission is superimposed on the blue and green filters with maximum transmission to enable high efficiency and a natural color image. The gap between the green and red filters serves to block the primary line of sodium light pollution at 589 nm and improves color balance and separation.
The LRGB filters Optolong have the same optical thickness, allowing the filter to be changed without refocusing. They also have an associated anti-IR filter to block infrared emissions.
The filter is made of optical glass with a flatness level of λ / 4 on both surfaces (the surface irregularities are
The L-Pro has an ultra-clean substrate after having passed through 13 ultrasonic cleaning tanks and purified water, to effectively remove any remaining impurities and dust.
Its outermost coating with IRO source technology provides increased durability and scratch resistance, as well as CWL (center wavelength) stability unaffected by temperature changes.
Extensive quality control: each filter is individually tested to ensure that its output spectrum and wavefront is appropriate.
