Clear Filter Optolong 2"

Clear filters do not have any special optical properties. They are used as dust protection and especially as a parafocal device for other filters Optolong.

The clear filter should be placed in a filter turret, in combination with other filters Optolong. The presence of filters, whatever they are, changes the focusing distance on the sensor. Therefore, a Clear filter should be used for focusing before switching to filters that sometimes do not allow easy focusing (e.g. H-alpha or S-II filters). It does not filter UV or IR rays. Its multi-layer treatment eliminates parasitic reflections.

The second function of the Clear filter is to protect the camera sensor from dust. Since it does not change the transmission spectrum of the optical train, color balance is maintained.

Finally, the Clear filter can be used as an alternative to a UV/IR filter if your optical system does not contain lenses.

The aluminum cell is manufactured by CNC machines that provide extreme manufacturing precision. The cell is very thin, with a total aperture of 26 mm for the 1.25" (31.75 mm) diameter.
