PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SII filters isolate the spectral emission from singly ionized sulfur atoms, also common in nebulae. The emission occurs in two lines that form a doublet, at 671.6 and 673.1 nm. This filter also separates the sulfur emission from the H-alpha emission (656.3 nm).

SPECIFICATIONS

Capacity

  • Connection (telescope side): 2"
  • Frame: 2"
  • Support material: Aluminum
  • Center axis length (nm): 672
  • Width at mid-height (nm): 3

General

  • Type: Filter
  • Construction type: Line filter

Applications

  • Planetary nebulae: yes
  • Supernova remnants: yes
  • Suitable for photographic purposes: yes
  • Against light pollution: yes

All transmission and blocking (OD) data are actual spectra measured from representative production batches. Spectra vary slightly from batch to batch. OD values above 6 may appear noisy because such evaluations push the resolution limit of low light level measurements.
